Chagrin.

"Opportunity dances with those who are already on the dance floor."
H. Jackson Brown Jr.

Whoa, the past few days had been a blast. Basically, I've been travelling down to Fort Canning a lot. I really like going there. Its such a beautiful place. We had full dress + make up two days ago. I looked like a seventh month ghost. I didn't even dare to look at myself when the aunty was done with the make-up, but guess what, its gonna look real outstanding on the stage ;)

Soldiers' suits!

Make up kit, they are so budget they used MAC make up :D

There's so much going on in Reina's head. I guess I can partially understand how she feels about life right now. Partially cos' I still have time to figure stuff out but she doesn't. It hurts somehow to know that I can't do anything to help her resolve her problem but then again, I hope it'd be good to have me listening. This definitely leads me into realising what I'm gonna do in future. Which way do I pursue on? There are many things to factor in. Its not gonna just be about me. That's a whole lot to ponder about. Let's just take things one step at a time. Reina! Just know that you can count me in whatever you want to do, I'll make it for all classes if I can :) Whatever hard work we've committed won't be futile :D

(Plays Jordin Spark's "One Step At A Time".)

I have dance almost everyday this week, (l). I love life :D

Prayer.

2nd December 2008
12:37am

"Dear God, please bless me & Vien that we may get into a dance company together and share the passion of dance to the younger generation. AMEN."

Reina sent me this message a few minutes ago, I almost just cried. Thank you Reina :)

Absolutely Useless.

"Fame is a bee.
It has a song --
It has a sting --
Ah, too, it has a wing."
Fame Is A Bee - Emily Dickinson

Is it really such a phenomena to see me online at the crack of dawn, or maybe early afternoon? Lolz, I guess I'm really a nocturnal blogger. I just can't imagine seeing time go down the drain as I touch this computer, its too, WASTED.

By the way, ocean of thanks to Reina for adding fuel to my already raging passion for ballet. She totally inspired me today by bringing a very resourceful piece of material from the Australian Ballet School website. The syllabus that they cover is simply attractive, including theatrical make-up to drama to pas de deux to music & that's not even half the list. But of course, how can we simply put off the heart-wreching fact that it costs a bomb just to be a student there?

Let's just keep of fingers crossed & stay sanguine about the chances that Mum will let me go.

Btw, Reina & I went to lots of places today to get lots of ballet stuff. We went to Golden Landmark first, I got my pair of tights & Reina gave me her pair of leather split sole cos' she bought them but couldn't fit into them.

Costume shop sells leotards in a plethora of colours!

Walked over to Stage Image afterwards in search of another split sole for Reina but the one that they offered didn't have the cloth thing at the sole.
Took a train down to Somerset to Sonata which was originally where Reina got her pair of split soles which are now mine but guess what, they were out of stock. Reina should seriously just try the Tampines branch this Sunday.

Reina & Vivien :D

Nutcracker today was just one hour & we did our routine again. Super funny now that the settings were supposed to be "imagined" & we had to squat down to squeeeze through the tunnel to get up on stage. Tomorrow's rehearsal would be full dress + make up so I'm gonna bring a packet of make-up removal. I hope the make up won't make us look like seventh month ghost. We can't go on stage w/o make-up. We'll look really nondescript & even more ghastly. I'll attach photos if I manage to take some.

Reina & I were crossing a road to get to Plaza Singapura when this conversation tickled me.

Reina: Vivien, look, this road is totally useless.
Vivien: Why?! (Scratches head)
Reina: Look at the road name!

Buyong (Don't need) Road.

Stunning, as ever.

Dawn Broken.

1st December 2008
1:11pm
"When I said my fate, there was no question that I meant the two of us. We were just halves of the whole."
Isabella Cullen, Breaking Dawn.
Aloha. I've sucessfully savoured "Breaking Dawn". Now I understand why Chewy & Tammie both cried at the ending. Its just so blissful. I love the way Stephenie Meyer puts everything down so blatantly yet it doesn't seem soapy at all. I'm gonna go into another round of Twlighting when the hard cover comes out.

Yay, I really can't wait for the weekends to come. By this time on Saturday, I would have reached the peak of Genting, lining up for tickets for Twilight. I'm very much gonna punch Debbie's face if the movie's not out yet. Cheat my feelings. Urghhh, bubbling anticipation.

I'm getting ready to leave house soon. Nutcracker rehearsal later. One hour of rehearsing only. Gonna get tights & shoes with Reina before heading to Fort Canning :)

Agony

30th November 2008
1:51am

I just revisited my hotmail sent items, & I wished I hadn't. I'm feeling so much now, so cheated. What was wrong with me? What is wrong with me right till now? Why did I even click on those emails that I've written? Why did I even typed them? Not to mention I even sent them out. I wish you didn't exist. I really hope you'd just vanish. I hope I didn't even know you. Why did I even befriend you in the first place? You played with the strings you attached me to. You controlled every single decision I didn't have to make.

Good riddance, I've finally deleted every single detail enough to trigger another set of overflowing memory of you. You're such a jerk. I swear if I see you again I'll kill you with my well-prepared dictionary of profanities.

Hell of a puppet.

Breaking Dawn, Fast & Furious.

29th November 2008
10:06pm

"Edward. Edward. My life & his were twisted into a single strand. Cut one, & you cut both. If he were gone, I wouldn't be able to live through that. If I were gone, he wouldn't live through it, either. & a world without Edward seemed completely pointless. Edward had to exist."
Breaking Dawn, Isabella Swan.

Life's been good. I've been betting on myself when I'll ever get my assy holiday assignments done. I'm so engaged in reading I barely can bring myself to do my homework. I'm almost done with Breaking Dawn, just a few more chapters before I seal up my entrance into Bella & the Cullen's nightmarish world. I hate to think that I'm gonna put aside reading Stephenie Meyer's book. Maybe I should buy "The Host" to see if its equally spectacular.

Perhaps the manic training I'm about to have next week for Nutcracker will mitigate my urge to read & read & read. I need distractions. Positive ones to overwrite or exchange my reading fever to more of like, picking up my pen & start scribbling fever.

I asked WeiTing out yesterday & we had a whale of a time guffawing at how inane some people can be. So, WeiTing got lost in Dhoby Ghaut. I can't blame her cos' the first time I was there, if it wasn't for Reina, I'd be a lost sheep myself. I think WeiTing went to the wrong exit or something. But I managed to meet her in the end & she vividly described her experience with an unmoralized, selfish being who farted right infront of WeiTing. Thank goodness it didn't choke up the entire human race in that area.

Twilight pillars supporting Dhoby Ghaut MRT!

So, we settled off for some food first. Long John's. & then we walked around Plaza Singapura. Spotlight had way too many things for the eyes. They were dazzling! I love the cloths there. They have like this array of fine, vintage fabrics. What a pity, I can't sew. Neither can my family.

WeiTing trying out her hat :D

Me with hat :D

WeiTing believes she can knit.
(Don't point your finger like her, so rude!)

WeiTing loves these colours!

Pretty fabrics :D

We went over to Bugis after that. WeiTing bought a pair of shoes while I sorta, eased my eyes on clothes rather than placing investments into it. Didn't have much moolah left to begin with. I've been splending & splurging as if I'm a rich kid which is a big turn-off. I'm gonna stay poor for awhile.

We went over to Ang Mo Kio Hub after that, largely for a mission to capture, well, a rat. Lolz. I think only some will get it. It was a wild search btw, I didnt't even see its rat tail. Hah! WeiTing & I were seriously captivated by the icy, ice-creamy thing we couldn't decipher the through name for it. It tasted so great we're gonna go back for more. Its a must-try with a average pricing. Gooood for the thirsty shoppers.

There you go, drool.

We were mostly eating our way through AMK Hub. Barely even concentrating on shopping. I sent WeiTing back to her MRT stop after that before meeting Mum at Vivo.

Today's a really happy day. I can't have better luck than this. Went for Miss Lee PeiNee's class in SDT. Super technical & I loved it. Fort Canning was preparing for some kind of aids concert thing so I caught a glimpse of their rehearsal with Stephanie Sun singing her lungs out. She's really powerful live! :D Great singer, jewel of Singapore.

Fort Canning :D

WeiTing kept me company through the phone while I waited pathetically for my parents. Thanks a lot girl :D
You were there, just a few steps away. Yet it took me so much to just, look. What a pity.

"Cos I could comb across the world, and see everything, and never be satisfied, if I couldn't see those eyes."
Hello Beautiful, Jonas Brothers.

I burnt midnight oil last night from 12mn to 4am just to complete my retarded Chemistry holiday assignment. But joy to the world, I've sucessfully knocked down 2 out of my never-ending pile of homework. But you know, I'm gonna take it sloooow & steady. What's the rush?

These few days are so slack cos' I know its gonna manifest & accumulate into a big lump of adrenaline cos' next week's gonna be bizarre. First, I already lost count on how many rehearsals I'm about to have, plus I think I'm gonna fly off to Msia next weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to watch Twilight before its aired in Singapore. Stupid YinSoon told me he's trespassed a website entitling him to watch the movie even before I'm off to Msia.

I suddenly recalled that someone spoke this sentence into my ears once. I think it was someone from 3B but I seriously can't remember who mouthed them. He said like,

"I'll just laugh if Twilight premieres with some kind of rating unsuitable for you."

If that happens, I'll make sure my puny brain racks out who the heck said that & I'll cuss my lungs out at you. But whatever, I'm gonna get my paws on the disc first thing when its out :D

Btw, this is Bella's truck. Reminds me of the Walts Disney movie, "Cars".

Yay, going out with WeiTing tomorrow. Probably to get our holiday reading assignment books. Guess what, everyone. Buy "Sing To The Dawn". Its like, ten bucks plus its really thin! Good for the blow-it-off & langour attitudes!

Punch me, I'm going gaga over Robert Pattinson!

I Like To Move It Move It.

26th November 2008
10:50pm

"I like to move it move it, he likes to move it move it, she likes to move it move it, we like to, MOVE IT!"
Madagascar.

Its always good to have multiple Sony Ericsson user in the house cos' apparently when one phone's USB decides to malfunction & turn its back on you, you can always resort to you Dad's or Mom's one. Its that convenient. So I curse my spoilt one. You better get a life.

By the way, did I mention how much Madagascar made me cackle & giggle. I bet our (Reina, Janelle & mine) boisterous laughter boomed loudest throughout the entire theatre. I love the darkness. We can laugh our heads off without being recognised/detected. I was hopping & hopping to see Twilight's trailer on the big screen, though I've watched it over & over on Youtube. You just can't get enough of Edward. I swear.

Reina, Janelle & I match perfectly with the three main characters in the movie. Reina being Gloria (cos' she claims that her tummy's equally big as Gloria's) & Janelle being Melman since she's so freaking tall. I, Alex, cos' I have a mane whenever I hold my hair back in a tight bun. So that explains why we can so very well relate to the movie.

I was watching the movie in rapt till I am left with a quarter of popcorn in my bag. That was never the case. I'm always the one clearing everyone's popcorn bags & what the heck, this movie made me laugh till I forgot to eat.

I'm trying to compensate whatever emptiness my blog had a few days ago. So I'm writing & writing. Yesterday was Nutcracker full rehearsal for Cast A. I felt so single & alone walking into Fort Canning without Janelle or Reina (they are both Cast B). But once I got into the holding area I saw a couple of friends so that was really comforting. JiaHuan came after awhile so I had company.

Went through our work once only. Spent the rest of the time watching the entire Act II. Its so inspiring. I must start losing weight if I wanna be like one of the company dancers. Lolz :D

Time loss, pictures back!

Hold On A Moment.

26th November 2008
12:26pm

I am leaving house in about 4 minutes time. (Plays Madonna's hit, 4 Minutes)

Life's manic lately. I have hardly any spare time to come online to update this rusting blog. I promise to feed you with photos when I get back later on. I'm off to watch Madagascar with Reina & Janelle.

Posthaste. I've completed Eclipse & 7 chapters of Breaking Dawn. They finally got married.

Chewshian: I've completed the entire Twilight Saga!
Me: Really? I'm still stuck at Eclipse.
Chewshian: Aiyoohhhh, I "Breaking Dusk" already!

LOL. I love Chewy.

Nauseated.

22nd November 2008
10:20pm

"I threw it all away, to the shadows of regrets and you would have the best of me."
Best Of Me, Sum 41.
I was expecting a much deeper sleep now that I'm back from SSA camp but I woke up almost every half an hour through the night only to find myself beaten & soft. I could even hear my watch beep at the time I was suppose to wake up for camp cos' I forgot to silence it after camp.

I think I woke up at the wrong side of bed cos' I felt so awful I had to lie on my sofa for breakfast. I was in a daze flipping through Eclipse & trying my hardest to concentrate. I was so nauseous I finally found that my attempt to read the book was moot so I ended up sleeping on the sofa.

My sleep was disconcerted though. I kept getting flashes of random moments. Its annoying really. To think that I'm wasting my Saturday dozing away like a pig on the sofa. I woke up sweating.

The Cullens, this totally cheered me up!

Dalamo Dalamo!

21st November 2008
9:06pm
"Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer."
Thunder, Boys Like Girls.
In the blink of an eye, I'm once again back home, cuddling Hirobear (my pink carebear). SSA camp was a blast. Returning to Camelot serves as an avenue to catch up with old friends. Its amazing how things aren't very much different in camp. We're still as crazy & hyper as ever. Perhaps inclining even more in our vibes. I bet my kidneys. If all full 20 of us from batch 07 are called back, this camp would very much be a out of control one.

I felt really disheartened when I saw batch 08 when we were reporting for camp. Thought that they were never gonna make it to our standard of bonding. All of them were in their own little cliques. Camelot again, breathing the air there simply reminded me of past memories. All our funky nicknames attached to every single one of us. Instructors this time round's not the same.

I can't remember every single intricate detail of the camp so I shall just summarise that being a facilitator this time round felt way different from being a participant. We delegate jobs instead of executing commands now, & we impart knowledge instead of acquiring knowledge. By day 2, much of the 18 batch 08 managed to get into the groove & finally opening up & melting their ice. Couldn't see much of their hostility either.

Campfire was totally bonkers. High to the topmost level. I can't even describe it. High to the point till losing my voice didn't matter at all.

Positioning as a facilitator, we were entitled the privilege to carry our phones with us so I have photos. Trying the high elements were different this time round. Finally had our go at challenge pole & the log thing. My fear of height bobbed up only when I realise how high above ground I am. Nerve wrecking.

Bob & HanMing got really aroused upon seeing some girl wrapping herself only in a towel & skipping happily up & down the steps. Sick to the core. Can't she tell we are trying hard to swallow our dinner? Revolting. I can't help but to laugh at every single antic of Bob.

"Well, what can I say?"
18 participants, 10 facilitators, we made up SSA 2008 :D

I'm tired. Photos up!

SSA Unite.

17th November 2008
9:37pm

"I can't make a sound to somehow capture your attention. I'm staring at perfection."
Stranger, Secondhand Serenade.

Snip snip, I just clipped my nails to keep it within satisfying length for tomorrow' training. I shudder thinking about the nerve-wrecking PDS. I will probably be the klutzy one dropping & flinging my rifle at my poor squadmates.

I feel so good after catching up with old pals today. SSA camp briefing. This year, batch 2007 will be going as facilitators for batch 2008. Meeting Bob once again really sparked off my enthusiasm for SSA :D Briefing today was kind of different. We are now sitting there listening at things that were once told to us a year ago. Just that we are now reporting camp as a senior, someone who's suppose to know the regulations & rules of the game. & I'm excited. Really.

So let's see. Majority of those who volunteered to come back came for briefing today, except Rachel who had HTA stuff to do. That amounted to 9 out of 10 of 20. 10 out of 20 of us 2007 batch volunteered to go back & only 9 came today, excluding Rachel.

After briefing, Bob, Yijun, WeiTing & I searched for booties (kayaking shoes). First stop, thanks to Bob, was the fruitless Bedok army shop. The stallkeeper told us to ring the Tampines branch up but Bob dialled the wrong number, which we all roared in laughter. Tampines branch required us to book & collection was on Thursday but our camp's gonna be on Wednesday, so that, was out too.

Challenged, the foursome went over to Lavender, which we were pretty much confident in getting our essential paraphenalia for wet activities. Finally got what we wanted after a really tiring trip. Yijun left first so Bob, WeiTing & I sat down to eat & chat. Contents rather explicit so I shan't spill the beans.

I'm so anticipating camp right now. I wish Wednesday would come soon. I wish tomorrow will come soon too, there's Nutcracker :)

Twilight Saga.

16th November 2008
8:01pm

"Take what you're given before its gone. Start holding on, keep holding on."
Stand, Rascal Flatts.

Thanks Rachel, crazy. I love the colors.

I love Mom. After much hesitation, she finally fished out $51 out of her purse to buy me my long awaited Twilight Saga! :D Hugs & kisses, how often do you get blessed by such a great Mom :D I promise I'll repay her when I start earning my own bucks.

What's up today, you ask. Nothing much, I'll reply. Pretty much dancing took up the entire chunk of my afternoon & SS holiday assignment when I get home. I can't wait for sleeptime to come. I can now indulge in my novels! :D I can't wait to wander into the world of Stephanie Meyer's words where I can picture Edward vividly once again! :D Just speaking of it makes the butterfly flutter.
SSA briefing tomorrow. Can't wait to see my favourite mates! :D

Squad Together.

15th November 2008
10:21pm

"You're one in a million, you're once in a lifetime."
One In A Million, Bosson

Did I mention how beautiful this song can actually be despite its age? Just look at its lyrics, its bound to touch every single heart :D

Did I also mention how much I love my fellow squadmates :) Met up with Yohana, Rachel & WeiTing today at Tampines Macs to do up our PYA poster. Spent most of the time eating & chatting but when it came to work, we were seriously committed & completed the poster in a jiffy. This annoying MacDonald's auntie came, her main intention to chase us off her territory. So, she came telling us, in awfully broken English: Because this is our peak hour, no project work ALLOWDED in MacDonalds.

In other words, we are to stop working on our project & get our asses off the chairs.

But guess what, being really quickwitted, Rachel figured out that it was time for her to get her meal so we can stay there longer. She took her own sweet time savouring her burger. Lolz. We managed not to piss auntie off :D

It was a once in a blue moon occasion to hang out with Yohana so we've tried all we can to keep her out with us :D We walked all bookstores in Tampines Mall, & mum promised to buy me New Moon, Eclipse & Breaking Dawn tomorrow, which is terrifico :D We followed Yohana's wishes to play the arcade too, & we had a good laugh having a go at different machines. WeiTing can buy herself a new motorbike, she's in total control of her bike.

WeiTing & Rachel, MVPs.

Yo, Vivien, WeiTing, Rachel :D

Initial plan afterwards was to play Mahjong at Yo's place but in the end we concluded that we cheated her feelings by telling her to go Lavender before heading to her house when actually we did not go to her house. So she had to spend some time shopping with us, which I think she'd rather not. Lolz, but at least she found something to entertain herself, a $2 yo-yo from Arab Street. She seeks different sort of fun as compared to us.

I'm irresistably attracted to the leathery vintage bags/wallets in those shophouses round the area. I must go back soon to get something! We finally let Yohana off after walking to Bugis MRT but Rachel, WeiTing & I continued to walk around. I'm starting to dislike crowded places after today. However I must stay ambivalent. Crowded places have their pros & cons, just watch your slingbag.

Picturizaboombah!

I can sing the rainbow!
