30th December 2008
6:42pm

Muster parade today, all respective I/Cs have official handed over their respective batches to their new I/Cs. Only then did it strike me hard on the face that that's it, I'm handing over my Sec 2s to Rachel. I find it extremely challenging to tell them exactly how I feel so I resort to my best friend, my blog, to express my deepest gratitude & best wishes to my beloved Sec 2'2008 squad.

There were moments, which I am now feeling very apologetic, whereby events in my life do not entitle me to be with my squad for certain activities. I can hereby admit that I hadn't been entirely there for them, giving them the best possible solutions to doubts they have towards our CCA. However, I must declare here that this joyful bunch of cadets have indeed played a big part in my leadership growth & I have much faith in them to bring this unit into greater heights.

To-be-NCOs, you guys have been a great fantastic squad to work with. You guys have never been much of a problem to me & are always vigilant in terms of behaviour. Working with you guys opened my eyes & it was a very fruitful experience. Please make good use of all the knowledge imparted to you by all of us seniors & you guys will emerge as bold leaders for our CCA :)

P.s: I don't know if you guys will read this, but even so, I'm writing it.
All the best to the Sec 2s! :) Best wishes. I LOVE YOU GUYS!

My Apologies.

27th December 2008
10:33pm

I have no idea why but somehow I reckon I've lost the passion to post. Basically cos' I'm uploading tons & tons of photographs into Facebook from my digital camera, which means they are big files & require greater amount of time. Plus, Picnik is really sickening with their slow loading rate.

I'm happy though, Mummy's promised to buy me Adobe Photoshop 7.0. Therefore, I'm gonna refrain myself from posting Bali pictures till then. So meanwhile, enjoy HANDPHONE PHOTOS! :)

So, I hope everyone had a joyful X'mas! No reasons why you don't cos' who doesn't get mesmerized by the spectacular X'mas lightings in town?! I spent the earlier part of X'mas day with Winny & YeeHui. Strutted down Orchard Road, indulging in the rich christmassy ambience. Familiar X'mas carols were rocking the people there. I was dying to get the small quirky santa hat everyone was wearing.

Met Bryan, Reina & Howie later for Karaoke at Liang Court. Party World is definitely appealing for the thrifty but they should honestly update their songlist. Totally deprived of new songs.

I'm gonna flash pics now.

"You and I still got a long long way to go."
Long Way To Go - The Click Five

Just several months ago I was writing about how much I was feeling all jittery & nervous about The Nutcracker audition and guess what, a few hours ago was our final, closing performance.

I have so much to say.

Right from the very beginning, from the pre-audition pandemonium every single participant was feeling to learning the steps, followed by taking our positions up to hectic rehearsals & then finally setting foot into Esplanade for the entire run through alongside with thick make-up caking our face. From Aunty Gwen drawing our red circles for us to us drawing them ourselves. From individuals from totally unrelated worlds to cronies who stood by each other through thick & thin through out the production. From hostile greetings to sharing of ghost stories in our changing room. From single to attached. From individuals to a team.

From baby rats, clock mice, male rats, soldiers to one big family of closely-knitted dancers. From the start to the end.

I will miss The Nutcracker 2008 so much. If only words can fully comprehend the emotions within. I'm feeling so nostalgic. I've learnt so much. To those who wished me luck for the performances, you are deeply appreciated, & I needed them :)

Trigger happy :)

We went to the KTV one day at Liang Court.

Deepest apologies to my beloved blog as I'm gonna leave it here for cobwebs to form & accumulate as I'll probably leave it on hiatus from now till I don't know when. Its the Nutcracker season & tomorrow's gonna be the final performance for us. Heart-wrenching, I swear I can cry this very moment if I think a wee bit further.

I'm so gonna miss all my friends from Nutcracker. My entire cast, cast B, facillitators like Jacey & Rene, as well as people from other roles. Not to forget the company dancers that do a splendid job in providing us with ample inspirations.

Okay, people are streaming into the Green Room now. Ta :)

Soldiers & Rats Hang Out.

16th December 2008
10:58pm

"A good education is usually harmful to a dancer. A good calf is better than a good head."
- Agnes George DeMille
How true, so intriguing.
Awhhhh, ChenNing's already left for Japan! :( I hope the chilling weather there doesn't make her feel uncomfortable & I pray hard that she'll have a really save & fruitful trip. Fruitful with lots of possible gifts for me :P

So yesterday was a really para-para day. We set the dancing bones moving. The day kicked off with rehearsal at Esplanade. Its just costume, no make-up so, joy to the world :) Rehearsal, unexpectedly, ended as soon as we've done our part in Act I so we waited for the male rats till Act II finishes cos' they had to ride bicycles for Act II Chinese Dance.

Left for Marina Square with them, initial plan was to bowl. Ended up playing para-para in the arcade. The guys took different style in attacking the machine. I have to say this, I have never seen anyone in my life as active as Sen Cai on the machine. We all had our chance at it but none of us sweat, except him, truckloads.

It was sidesplitting I would have videoed it down if they allowed me to.

Yongtat granted Winny & Yeehui 50c each so they played too. Joined the SOTA girls for a bit of bowling. Only Bryan & Howie bowled. Bought tickets for Twilight after that.

I love Singapore censorship. The kissing part was spared :D Plus the atmosphere was so good with marvellous sound effect. So there definitely was a level of discrepancy in terms of movie quality :)

Went to look for Nutcracker music after that at HMV. Took MRT home with Reina, Bryan & Howie. Howie stays in Tampines too. Just that we take different buses home. Wanted to move over to the floating platform to take photo but the night was caving in so I had to leave.

I want to go for master class very badly. I missed the registration already! Screw it.

The Nutcracker 2008: Opening.

13th December 2008
12:32am

"Please send me your last pair of shoes, worn out with dancing as you mentioned in your letter, so that I might have something to press against my heart."
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Yesterday denoted the very first opening of The Nutcracker 2008, & I am elated to be part of its production :) The opening wasn't as spectacular as what its expected. Maybe to us small soldiers. Cos' something really unfortunate happened right there, live on stage. Perhaps most of the audiences at the back couldn't really see it but it was as clear as putting us under the microscope for audiences seated infront. & Its very much unfair to the audiences who actually saw our flaws.
So, small soldiers were set upon stage in our cute little castle. Sturdy looking, no doubt it can actually hold all our weights. We were rolled on stage on time, check. We stood really still, no swaying, no wavering, check. JiaHui kicked the door on time, check. Door open, uncheck.

THE CREW FORGOT TO UNLOCK THE CASTLE DOOR.

So yay, we got stuck there while JiaHui tries her might to karate the door open. In the end Faye suggested to just crawl through the tiny gap between the door. Faye's hat fell to her neck & gradually Natalie & Stacie kicked the door open. We were almost late & the rest of the performance for us was pretty much screwed with most of us still unable to recuperate from the shock. But alright, mistakes are inevitable. I enjoyed my time on stage :D & The soldiers exterminated all the nasty rats :P

Pre-Nutcracker.

12th December 2008
12:39pm

"Soldiers, he (Uncle Jeffrey) wants you! GO GO GO!"
Rene, facilitator for the soldiers, Nutcracker 08.

No words can be written down right here to accurately describe how much I hate to see Nutcracker come to an end. The friendship forged, the memories etched, I'm sure no one can take that away :)

I really love my cast, I really love the soldiers, as well as other dancers that never fail to aspire & motivate the ones that are watching. I'll miss all the sets (especially our castle), all the lightings, the ambience, the choreographers, everything. I'll try my best to miss the make up :D

In less than 24 hours time, it'll be our very first performance. I'm bubbling with excitement.

But then, how much time left?

Please keep in contact, everyone :D I can't wait for our opening night :)

We Are Not Kindergarten Teachers!

9th December 2008
10:31pm

"Quick, do this before the taxi comes!"
(Place both palms on head as directed by Reina)
"Look at the shadow! Eyeballs!" said Reina.

I am home sweet home from Malaysia :D The car seat I was seating on could have burnt cos' we were stuck near the custom for four hours each, to & fro. No, not that I don't like it, its good that the custom officers have such thorough checks, to ensure our safety. I just don't like squeezy cars. Plus sitting in the middle with no head rest at all.

I'll talk more about the trip in my next post or something. But in a nutshell,

I CAUGHT TWILIGHT IN KL!

Which was my topmost priority besides shopping :D Check! Its off my checklist. But guess what, censorship board rulezzz. They zapped off the smooching scene. *Curses, punches air*

My Mum loves Edward as much as I do now. No maybe I am still leading but what the heck, she was reciting with me the lines in the movie.

"How old are you?"
"17"
"How long have you been 17?"
"Awhile?"

I entered home only at 2am this morning. So, I woke up really late, like 1:30pm & met Reina at 3pm. White Sands to do up X'mas gifts for Nutcracker rats & soldiers. We had a freezing fun time wrapping & writing.

Macs was so freaking frigid I swear if I'm tall enough I'll pluck out the air conditions. I still can't get over Edward. Let the pictures speak for themselves!

Reina, working like a factory. Efficient.

Factory Tan :D

Girls' Day Out :D

5th December 2008
10:21pm

"I recently read that love is entirely a matter of chemistry. That must be why my wife treats me like toxic waste."
David Bissonnette

Whackadidooo! Had a funtastic day out with ChenNing today. Let me just now, try to forget how late ChenNing can be. She made me wake her up at 10am so that she can get ready but guess what? She only woke up at 11am when I'm already on my way out of house! Thank goodness I have like WeiTing & Rachel's company :D

We were having lunch at LJS :D

There's ChenNing :D

I really love going out with ChenNing. We can have so much to talk about. Maybe cos' we've been friends since I started ballet which was like Primary 1. Even longer than any other close friends that I have. Its common that I have verbal constipation with people I meet nowadays. I simply do not feel comfortable. I think I need workshops on how to socialise.

Really cool board outside Cineleisure :D

I look really sloppy!

Caught "Wild Child" in Cathay Cineleisure today. I think we were a great joke today. We asked the counter tickets to "Wild Girl". & We only realised that when we entered the movie. What a big joke. I love being a Nebo member cos' I get to watch movies at any Cathay cinemas (with just a flash of my Nebo card) at a really meagre price of 6 bucks! :D Get your Nebo membership now. Its really worth it. Plus you get your spastic face on that card. I really think I've (sadly) inherited the virtue of "bargain/kiasuism" from Mum :D

Cineleisure :D

I'm toooooo exhausted to talk about every minute detail of what went on today so I shall just move on with the photos. I'm gonna leave for Genting early tomorrow morning at about 5am. Gonna catch Twilight if its already out there :D

That's all, folks :D
