Call Me Big Soldier

2nd August 2008
11.14pm

Hey, I'm finally back after an incredibly long day. But the day's not gonna end yet, since I've got a show to catch later at 1am :D So, if you've been reading my blog, today's the Singapore Dance Theatre Nutcracker auditions. Woke up at about 7.30am just to get myself ready for the auditions. Pulled my hair back into what I call a standard or maybe one of my neatest bun up to date, spreading a generous amount of jelly-like substance(gel) smelling awfully nice.

Met Reina at Tampines Mall Macdonald's, & Amelia & Colleen joined us after that. Had McGriddles which I felt really guilty eating. I told myself I must avoid the bulging tummy so I decided to eat McGriddles w/o egg. So, at least it was effort made. Met Chenyun after that & took the MRT over to Dhoby Ghaut.

Fort Canning was a blast cos' people were buzzing around getting everything ready for Singfest which's gonna be held later in the night. Stalls were set up selling like different band tees & it was way totally cool! Though this is not exactly my point now. Registered for my role at about 11.15am. Got my tag & I was D0019. There were less than 100 auditioning for the role cos' some of them retreated. Were made to do warm-up in this small, congested room. Finally, it was our turn so the whole of role D was channelled into this really spacious studio. The instructor, a male, was really graceful. Saw what he required the 'Clock mice' to do. Really adorable steps.

Then it was our turn, soldiers had to do marching. Thought I wouldn't get in initally, cos' all they did was put me to the side. At about the 3rd round all so, they finally called my number & my heart was already at my throat. I'm really elated that I've got through. Its a great opportunity to learn, & I'm gonna be breaking my very own limits :D Yay, I'm one step closer to my dream. As for those that didn't get in, its okay, there's always another try, another audition. There'll always be some place, some role meant for you. So, don't be disheartened or daunted. Simply look ahead.

I'm really thankful for all the people who kept me in their prayers, especially WeiTing whom I know prayed for me since we prayed for each other after training last Friday. I'd also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to those whom dropped me really motivating messages. I needed them :)

Actually, there are two kinds of people living in this world. One of which thinks about all the "If only" thoughts, & those who think about it but still continue to move on in life. Which life to take, its really up to one person's will. I must admit I'm really pessismetic about life. & I really hope this sickening mindset would go away. Have something in mind to concentrate & work hard on. I'm sure if you do so hard enough, anything will come to you.

Cycling again, today with Brother & Flora. We ate more than we cycled. Cos' we stopped consistently to get "slack". Took photos at the jetty but my hair was crazy, thanks to wind. Hahaha, everything was on Brother today. He's so kind.

Breathing in the air was enough to make me fly. Generally I feel that life's treating me fairly well.

I'm gonna chuck some photos here!
